With Rutherford needing 3 points for a promotion and Pennywell needing 3 points to avoid relagation there was all to play for in the away game at King George playing fields.With several cry off's and Steve Blakey still cutting grass at Close House it was up to the Rutherford squad players to carry the torch.

Good defending by Pennywell defence kept the scores nil. nil. A forced substitution for Rutherfords saw Paul Mcgregor on earlier than expected for the injured Kieran Conaty. It was not long before the forward's shot from long range dipped over keeper  kevin Rowntrees head and into the net, a deserved moment for the player who patiently has waited for his chance to play.
Second half saw a well marshalled Pennywell defence and the Rutherford forwards getting caught offside.several missed chances some open goals saw the Rutherford team desperate to increase their lead.
On as sub due to work commitments regular forward Steve Blakey broke through twice to score and seal the game for Rutherfords and guaranteed third spot, well earned for all of the effort the squad has shown,well done ,still not finished two to play
